Wildlife and bird studies comprise an important aspect of conservation efforts, environmental assessments and natural resource management. AAE Tech Services Inc. and its staff are experienced in conducting monitoring, assessments, inventories, relocation/salvages services, and research on many bird and wildlife species.

BIRD NEST SURVEY

AAE is experienced in conducting surveys and inventories of bird populations in a variety of environments and habitats. We have conducted bird inventories for environmental impact assessments and the development of impact statements for small- and large-scale projects in Ontario, Manitoba and British Columbia and our staff our knowledgeable in identifying and inventorying birds based on sight, trace evidence (feathers, tracks, nests), behavior and calls.

WILDLIFE TRACKING

Wildlife studies comprise an important aspect of conservation efforts, environmental assessments and natural resource management. AAE Tech Ser-vices Inc. and its staff are experienced in conducting monitoring, assessments and research on many wildlife species. Our areas of expertise include: Wildlife telemetry tracking and monitoring, aerial telemetry, aerial multi-species distribution surveys, wildlife population inventories, wildlife relocation, wildlife impact assessments and wildlife tracking surveys.

RIPARIAN REHABILITATION

Riparian zones play an essential role in regulating the interaction between land and water. When riparian zones are degraded by depreciating environ-mental condition and human activity, the ecological functions they fulfill are impaired to the detriment of both terrestrial and aquatic ecosystems.

Riparian rehabilitation involves assessments of riparian function and condition and restoration of riparian habitat through measures that often include erosion control and bank stabilization, seeding or planting shorelines with native trees and vegetation, limiting access and development through the establishment of riparian corridors and buffer zones, and protecting water quality by monitoring runoff from point and nonpoint source inputs.

AAE is experienced in conducting both broad-scale (e.g. whole watershed) and focused (e.g. individual creeks) assessments of riparian zone health and condition through comprehensive field studies that combine expert biological knowledge with cutting edge technologies to produce detailed analyses of riparian condition, provide recommendations and implement restoration strategies to rehabilitate degraded riparian function.
