AAE conducts aerial surveys using a fixed-wing eBee Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV), a fully autonomous, light-weight surveying drone outfitted with full GPS, ground and wind sensors, and high definition camera. Data gathered from the UAV, combined with our highly-accurate Trimble RTK ground system, provides detailed Digital Surface Models (DSM) and photographic orthomosaic images of any site. AAE’s UAV survey system provides exceptional topographic and environmental data which integrates well with CAD and GIS software. AAE’s UAV capabilities combined with our partnerships and expertise in hydrology, bathymetry, GIS and engineering provide valuable information and unique solutions. Please contact us for more information on how we can meet your project needs. EnvironmentalAAE‘s Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) survey system is well-equipped to tackle environmental project needs. Using a UAV to conduct environmental survey work allows us to tackle a wide variety of jobs with a high level of accuracy, safety and efficiency. Environmental applications include:

Representative Projects:Pointe du Bois Topographic Survey and Progress Assessments
Municipal Stockpile Assessments AAE has designed and carried out flight plans to assess stockpile volumes and surface areas of numerous municipal gravel stockpiles to help managers evaluate incoming and outgoing material quantity records. Regular UAV surveys of gravel pits and stockpiles help managers corroborate records of material quantities received, and mitigate potential losses from under-estimated load sizes.
Pine Creek Lakeshore Topographic Survey AAE conducted a topographic survey of the lakefront region of the Pine Creek First Nation Reserve. Data was incorporated into a Hydrological Model of the Pine Creek area for use in a flood analysis, prevention and mitigation plan. The Digital Surface Model produced by this survey was used to evaluate flood plain extent and land potentially affected by 25, 50 and 100 year flood events. |
